About D.c. K12 and Christalyn Solomon: All too often, the communities most impacted by policy choices in urban education are left out of the discussion around those changes. DC Public Schools has been at the epicenter of these discussions for many years, and we believe that our community must have a seat at the table for the district, and our kids, to succeed. DC K12 is a forum for parents, students, and teachers to raise the real issues facing our public schools and be a part of the conversation. Christalyn Solomon is the founder and principal of Solomon Public Relations, LLC a PR firm specializing in providing communication and branding solutions for organizations that wish to inspire positive social change. Solomon is a media-related member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and previously served as a communications intern for the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, DC. She is also the founder of Lovely Accomplished Ladies Inc. a non-profit organization which aims to empower teen girls through service. Solomon earned her B.A. in Public Relations from Hampton University. You can follow her on Twitter @ChristalynPR.
