Evan Gutierrez is a school administrator, pedagogy nerd and advocate for educational equity in the Latino community. Formerly a creative professional, Gutierrez began his work in education as a teaching artist. His work has focused on curriculum development, facilitating design teams for large districts and charter school groups nationwide to launch new and innovative schools or courses of study. He holds a BA in Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music, graduate study in Curriculum & Instruction and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. He serves as Director of Curriculum and Assessment for UCSN (Uno Charter School Network) in Chicago where he lives with his wife April and their two children Silvio and Miriam.
