It’s PROM Season, a much anticipated time of the year for most high school students! Here is a quick Do’s and Don’ts for anyone going to Prom from a young Comadre, who is now freshman in college.
Do’s:
- Go Glam!
“Nails done, hair done, everything did!”
Do not be afraid to go all out. You better be poppin’! Schedule your appointments in advance if you want a makeup artist to do your makeup and a stylist to do your hair. If you’re dolling yourself up, practice a few times before. Make it fun, invite your friends over and get glam together!
- Take tons of pictures!
There is no such thing as too many pictures on prom day! These are the memories you will want to look back on. Make sure your phone, your mom’s, dad’s and even your grandma’s phone has storage available for pictures. Everyone is going to look great, so be ready early and get that good lighting! Plain and simple let your loved ones go crazy taking pictures, you will thank them later!
- Make after-prom plans
No one wants to be that person that is stuck looking for a ride home after. Ask for permission in advance. You don’t have to do anything wild, get some food, take more pictures or just have a night in with your pals.
Don’ts:
1.Don’t wait until the last minute
Save yourself some stress and get everything you need in advance. Be realistic about time and traffic. You shouldn’t schedule your makeup for 4:30 p.m. and expect to be ready and meet your date across the city by 5:15 p.m.
- Don’t over do it
You want to look and feel your best. Get comfy shoes and skip the dark, heavy makeup. You want to look back one day and say “aww” not “what was I thinking?!” Go for the timeless look!
- Don’t Stress out
There might be some hiccups here and there. Just go with the flow. Don’t worry too much about having the perfect prom. Be safe, and have a great night with your friends!
