Invest in Latina Leaders of the Future With the GTWT Dorm Drive

Girls Today Women Tomorrow (GTWT) is a leadership/mentorship non-profit program located in Boyle Heights, which for the past 21 years has been developing the Latina Leaders of tomorrow. We work with young Latinas ages 10 to 21 to given them opportunities and they skills they need to compete in a global market.

We are excited to announce we that several of our girls will be starting college in the Fall. Many of them are the first in their family to attend college and don’t have the financial support they need.

So we are having a Dorm Drive to help them get started. The first phase of the Dorm Drive was to provide them with basic daily living supplies. They were each provided with a laundry basket filled with goodies.

Why is it so important to participate in the Dorm Drive?  We want these young Latinas to focus on succeeding in college not on where they are going to get money for their basis needs.

Now we are launching Phase 2 of the Dorm Drive because we want to make sure they can purchase anything we have forgotten. We are asking that you consider donating a gift card in any amount $10, $25 or $50. They love gift cards from 1) Target 2) Grocery Store or 3) Starbucks. You can send the girl card to the GTWT House 1927 East 2nd Street Los Angeles CA 90033 or visit our web site to make a donation.

Meet Jessica Flores a graduate from Mendez High School, she will be attending California State University Los Angeles in the Fall. This is what she said about GTWT.

“What I learned through GTWT is that females are powerful and worthy of such great accomplishments. GTWT has helped me be comfortable with being in situations outside my comfort zone and made me more confident in the person I am.”

We believe our young Latinas are on the rise and can accomplish anything they set their minds to, GTWT is committed to make sure they are supported! Join us as we invest in the Latina Leaders of the future. The future looks bright.

Visit our web site and join us on October 6th for the GTWT Annual Fashion Show.

Thank You!
