California Se Está Acercando a Horas de Inicio Más Tarde, Para Los Estudiantes de Las Escuelas Secundarias y Preparatorias

Actualización Legislativa:

La Medida SB 328 (Portantino) Asistencia de Pupila: La hora de inicio de escuela, ha despejado el Senado y se está moviendo hacia adelante a la Asamblea para su consideración. Si se aprueba, miles de adolescentes, tendrían una hora de inicio, del día escolar más tarde, que podría afectar significativamente la educación secundaria.  

El proyecto de ley cambiaría el Código de Educación de California (46148) para cambiar los tiempos del día escolar para los estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria a 8:30 AM. Ha sido un proyecto de ley un tanto polémica, con los maestros en su mayoría oponiéndose mientras que los padres parecen estar abiertos a los tiempos de la alineación con la Escuela Primaria. Los estudios han demostrado que los adolescentes se beneficiarían de dormir más tarde y que los estudiantes podrían beneficiarse en gran medida del cambio de hora.
